Former Manchester United captain, Roy Keane has warned the club against signing Chelsea midfielder, Mason Mount,
Keane is raising doubts over the Red Devils’ decision to sign the England midfielder, suggesting he would not improve Erik ten Hag’s side.
The Chelsea academy product has just a year left in his current deal with Chelsea and appears no closer to agreeing a new deal.
Manchester United are said to be stepping up their push to bring the England international to Old Trafford and are ready to submit a £55 million bid for the 24-year-old.
But Keane believes the midfielder has ‘gone off the boil’, accusing the 24-year-old of ‘going missing’ for Chelsea over the past year.
“I wouldn’t be so sure about Mount,” he said on Sky Sports.
“He [Mount] has gone off the boil a little bit. He’s just gone missing this last year or two, again..the fact he can’t get in a bad Chelsea team.
“I think he’s a good player but would he improve Man United? I’m not so sure.”
