Manchester City will play Arsenal in the Community Shield to kick off the 2023/2024 season.
This fixture was confirmed after City defeated Manchester United 2-1 in the FA Cup final on Saturday.
Ilkay Gundogan scored twice for the Premier League champions, while Bruno Fernandes got the only goal for the Red Devils from the penalty spot.
The Shield is usually contested between the league holders and FA Cup winners. Since Pep Guardiola’s men have won the Double, they will now face Arsenal, who finished behind them in the Premier League.
The game will be played on August 5th or 6th, later this year.
