Arsenal defender, Jakub Kiwior has welcomed the possible arrival of Jurrien Timber at the North London club.
Arsenal expect to complete a deal to sign Timber from Ajax in the coming weeks.
Arsenal’s first bid for the Netherlands defender was rejected, but the Gunners returned with a second, improved offer over the weekend.
While that is still believed to be short of Ajax’s asking price, there is a belief that both clubs will meet in the middle as Timber has his heart set on a move to Arsenal.
Timber has already agreed on personal terms with Arsenal last week and is set to sign a five-year contract with the Premier League giants.
His arrival at the Emirates will provide even more competition to Kiwior, who has played just eight matches for Mikel Arteta’s side since a move from Spezia in January.
“I’m glad there is going to be more competition,” Kiwior told Polish outlet Meczyki when asked about the possibility of incoming signings before asking the reporter: “Who is coming?”
After being told that it looks like Timber will be heading to Arsenal, Kiwior replied: “It is great that he is joining.
“Let the best players play at Arsenal. Let’s win matches and win trophies together.
