Officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, Ondo State Command have rescued a baby from a lone accident that occurred at Ayegunle-Oka, Akoko Southwest Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Sadly, the mother of the baby lost her life in the accident, which involved a Hiace Toyota Bus with the registration number BWR 563 YL.

Ropo Alabi, the Unit Commander of FRSC in Ikare-Akoko, confirmed that the rescue operation took place shortly after road safety officials were alerted of the accident.

Sources in the community disclosed that prompt response and arrival of the team of FRSC officials to the scene, contributed enormously to the safety of the baby.

Following the accident, medical attention was said to have been provided to the child, who was subsequently handed over to the mother’s family.

The individuals who came forward to claim responsibility for the baby were identified as John and Joseph Ode.

Ode, speaking on behalf of the family, expressed deep gratitude towards FRSC officials for what he described as their extraordinary efforts in the rescue of the baby.

He specifically commended the FRSC for their instrumental role in rescuing the child.

“The FRSC has not only saved a precious life but has also provided hope and comfort to the grieving family.

“The timely medical attention and care provided to the child during the rescue operation are greatly appreciated,” he said.

Meanwhile, the FRSC encouraged all road users to prioritize safety and adhere to traffic rules and regulations to prevent accidents and tragic loss of life.
