Rangers legend Barry Ferguson has backed the club’s decision to re-sign Leon Balogun.
Balogun rejoined the Gers this week, just one year after he was released by the club.
The Scottish Premiership club took the decision to bring the Nigerian back after young centre-back Leon King picked up an injury that would keep him out for a long spell.
Ferguson was elated to see Balogun return to the Ibrox and insisted that his presence would help the team.
“He’s experienced, he’s a good defender and a real physical presence. He’s not going to play every single game. He’s not coming in as the number one centre-back, but I tell you what, in my eyes, he’s a brilliant backup,” Ferguson was quoted by Glasgow Live.
The 35-year-old spent two years during his previous stint at Rangers.
He won the Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup titles.
