Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has provided an update on transfer talks with Juventus, insisting that the deal will not be completed.
Lukaku is looking to leave Chelsea on a permanent basis this summer transfer window.
The Belgian spent last season on loan at Inter Milan.
Lukaku’s initial preference was to remain at Inter Milan, but the Serie A giants were reluctant to meet Chelsea’s £40 million asking price for the player.
As a result, Juventus entered talks to sign Lukaku this summer.
But Juventus supporters staged a protest over the club’s push to sign Lukaku, and the former Manchester United star has now appeared to suggest that a move to the Old Lady is now off.
“I don’t think the deal will go through,” Lukaku was captured saying in a video when asked about a possible move to Juventus by an Inter Milan fan.
The video has gone viral on social media.
Lukaku’s current contract with Chelsea will expire in 2026.
The 30-year-old was left out of Chelsea’s pre-season tour a few days ago.
