Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher has criticized Chelsea’s summer signing, Moises Caicedo following his ‘nightmare’ debut for the Blues against West Ham United on Sunday at the London Stadium.
Recall that Chelsea lost against West Ham following goals from Nayef Aguerd, Michail Antonio and Lucas Paqueta as Carney Chuwkwuemeka’s goal was not enough for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
However, during the encounter, Caicedo lost a number of early challenges and had goalkeeper Roberto Sanchez to thank for keeping out Pablo Fornals after the Ecuador midfielder gifted him possession close to Chelsea’s box.
Caicedo also had a horror moment when he fouled West Ham’s Emerson Palmieri in the box with minutes to end the match.
Paqueta then stepped forward to convert the spot kick and Carragher insisted the incident summed up a nightmare debut for Caicedo.
“That man Caicedo has had a bit of a nightmare since he came on, you have to say,” Carragher told Sky Sports.
“It is a poor, lazy challenge. Emerson always knows he will get there before him. We all watched it. He has not started great since coming on.”
