Arsenal legend, Paul Merson has described forward, Bukayo Saka’s incredible record for the Gunners as phenomenal and absolutely unbelievable.
Saka continues to make history by breaking Arsenal’s record for most consecutive Premier League appearances.
The England star is likely to play his 86th successive match in the Premier League against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon.
The record was previously held by Merson himself at 82 league appearances for Arsenal.
“Phenomenal, that won’t be done again. In this day and age, where you are bringing players in and out of the team, you are resting them before big games,” Merson said on Sky Sports (as quoted by HITC).
“It just shows how important he is week in week out. Absolutely unbelievable.”
Saka has been an extremely important player in Mikel Arteta’s side.
He scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists, starting all of Arsenal’s 38 league matches last season.
