Arsenal legend, Ian Wright has slammed Manchester United for their poor performances so far this season, saying that they can’t blame Scott McTominay and Fred for their shortcomings this season.
Wright insisted that the Red Devils have no game plan and management, adding that teams now have a chance to beat Erik ten Hag’s side at Old Trafford.
Man United have had a very bad start to the 2023-2024 season, losing six out of their ten games across all competitions.
They currently sit in 10th position on the Premier League table with three wins and four losses.
Man United have also lost their first two UEFA Champions League matches of the campaign against Bayern Munich and Galatasaray, respectively.
“Anyone who goes to Old Trafford now will feel like they’ve got a chance, because Manchester United are never trying to pass through you,” Wright said on the Kelly and Wrighty Show (via Mirror).
“They can’t blame McTominay and Fred anymore, it’s not them, they’ve got a different midfield. It’s the same outcome. No match control. No game management.”
He added, “Everything is about getting the ball to [Marcus] Rashford, or Antony, beating someone in a one v one and getting the ball across. That is literally their gameplan, it’s all I can work out, because I don’t know what else they do.”
