The crisis in the Rivers State House of Assembly took a different turn this morning with security men firing teargas as lawmakers scampered for safety.
Recall that last night, a section of the assembly was set ablaze by yet to be identified persons to disrupt plans by the lawmakers to impeach the governor. It is alleged that Governor Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, are currently at loggerheads over the governance of the state.
This morning, the lawmakers gathered to vote for the removal of the House leader, Edison Ehie who is said to be a close ally of Gov Fubara. The governor also stormed the Assembly Complex with some of his aides.
A protest is also ongoing outside the complex.
