Napoli striker Victor Osimhen made the top 10 in this year’s Ballon d’Or rankings.
The 24-year-old was confirmed as the eighth-best player in the world during the award ceremony in Paris on Monday.
It comes after Osimhen led the Serie A club to their first Scudetto in 33 years.
The Super Eagles frontman scored 26 times in 32 league appearances for Naples as they won the title.
Osimhen finished ahead of Real Madrid veteran Luka Modric (10th) and Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva (9th).
Lionel Messi is expected to be crowned the overall winner.
