Former Manchester United midfielder, Paul Ince has criticized Bruno Fernandes, insisting that the Portugal international is not a leader.

Ince believes Fernandes is not playing his best football and should not be Manchester United’s captain.

“I don’t know what I see in Fernandes as he is not a leader by the way he plays,” Ince told talkSPORT on Monday.

“I feel at the moment he is not playing to the best of his ability.”

“As a leader, you do it by organisation,” he added.

“My main thing as a captain was if I’m not playing well, make sure the people around you are playing well. It shows how bad you are playing.

“That is your purpose as a captain, look around you and get others playing well. I look at Fernandes and it is all about him and I think if he is not playing well, then, you can see it in his body language.”
