A Nigerian lawyer has waded into the issue surrounding Nollywood actor, Emeka Ike, his ex-wife, Suzanne Emma and their son, Michael.

Last week the drama surrounding Emeka Ike’s family resurrected after the actor claimed in an interview, that Suzanne worked with assassins and blackmailers against him. He also alleged that Suzanne destroyed his multimillion school business and left him with nothing.

To counter the allegations, Suzanne who left Emeka after 20 years of marriage, denied his assertions saying he beat her to coma. In the interview, she also brought their son, Michael who claimed that the father sent him threatening messages and even told him he will be a failure at music.

Wading into the matter, Barrister Ebike Buna Augustine said;

Some of us, our parents (particularly our fathers) have been more critical to us and said some really hurtful things to us.

But that does not make our fathers “bad fathers”.

I have always said that a man can be a bad husband but not necessarily a bad father.

Because your father said you won’t make it as a musician now automatically make your father a bad person.

Imagine people who their father wanted to study Engineering and they end up studying something less enterprising.

I remember when my Lecturer made a joke about a very big Lawyers son who was sent to study law but was doing music in school without the knowledge of his parents.

Because your father is critical about your career path doesn’t make him a bad father.

Your father should be the only person capable of telling you the hard truth.

If your father say Don Jazzy will not sign you, use it as your motivation. Afterall, even Solo say Wizkid no go blow.

The fact that you now live with your mother and can openly throw your father under the bus shows how much of a character flaw your mother has.

Imagine as a man, you are being told to provide for a child who disrespects you this much.

This is what a lot of men are facing from their baby mama who they are not married to.

These women make these children hate their father to the point the man doesn’t even fancy taking care of the children.

The world will not see that part.

It will only see a man who has resources but refuse to cater for his children.

Never allow your children or use your children to fight proxy war with your partner.

It’s unhealthy. Learnor perish.
