Former Arsenal defender Kolo Toure has revealed that the club’s former manager Arsene Wenger’s ability to know exactly how to give everyone confidence was his greatest skill.
The Ivorian said that Wenger would never blame his players for any mistake on the pitch, adding that the Frenchman was 100 per cent positive and supportive.
“Arsene knew exactly how to give everyone confidence—for me, that was his greatest skill,” Toure was quoted as saying by Arsenal’s official website.
“He would not talk to you a lot, but he would never blame you for any mistake—everything was 100 per cent positive and supportive.
“Very rarely did you get negative feedback from him. I can’t remember getting that at all, actually.”
Toure joined Arsenal from Ivory Coast’s ASEC Mimosa in February 2002.
He made his debut at the start of the 2002–2023 campaign and was used in various positions that season.
