Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has named Axel Disasi as the ‘best player’ during Chelsea’s Premier League 1-1 draw with Manchester City on Saturday night.
Caragher said Disasi performed like Chelsea legend John Terry against Man City.
Goals from Raheem Sterling and Rodri ensured both teams shared the points at the Etihad.
Disasi, meanwhile, started for the Blues against Pep Guardiola’s side at the heart of their defence alongside Levi Colwill.
The 25-year-old made a whopping 16 clearances and three blocks, and won all four of his aerial duels.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Carragher said about Disasi: “That was a John Terry performance and I can’t give any higher praise than that.
“I can’t remember a better defensive performance this season, certainly from a central defender.
“You are coming away to Manchester City, playing against the best striker in the world, he was brilliant. He was Man of the Match, definitely the best player on the pitch.
“He was just throwing himself in front of everything.”
