Scott Minto, a former left-back for Chelsea, has criticized Raheem Sterling’s technical football skills, especially in striking the ball.
Sterling has been facing a lot of criticism lately, with the recent FA Cup match against Leicester City marking a low point.
He missed a one-on-one and a penalty in the match, leading to jeers from his own fans.
Despite this, Sterling remains committed to winning over fans and helping bring more trophies to Chelsea.
Minto has raised concerns about Sterling’s ability to strike the ball, questioning his suitability for free-kicks and penalties.
However, he also acknowledged Sterling’s outstanding talent as a footballer.
“Raheem Sterling missed a one-on-one [Leicester City]; he missed a penalty where he should not really have taken it in the first place,” Minto told talkSPORT.
“And Raheem Sterling, as good a player as he is and it seems ridiculous to say, because I’d hate to have marked him, but has never really struck the ball really well as a professional footballer.
“So I would not have him on free-kicks or penalties.”
