Chelsea midfielder Romeo Lavia has expressed his disappointment after being ruled out for the rest of the season due to a fresh injury setback.
The 20-year-old, who joined the Blues from Southampton last summer in a £60 million deal, has been plagued by injuries throughout the year.
He has made only one substitute appearance for his new club, Chelsea.
Lavia had been hoping to make a return to training this month, but his season-ending injury has put paid to that.
Writing on Instagram on Wednesday, the youngster promised to keep working hard to regain fitness and contribute to Chelsea’s success in future seasons.
Lavia wrote: “Hi, Chelsea family, as you may know, and despite my countless efforts, I will be missing the remainder of the season. This has been a frustrating season for me, not being able to help my teammates.
“I love this squad, this badge, and being on the pitch more than anything. Trust that I have given my all every day to get back. Thank you for the love, support and criticism because they all affect me positively and keep me going.”
