Manchester City right-back Yan Couto has spoken about the rumours surrounding his future, which include interest from Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid.
Couto joined City in 2020 from Brazilian side Coritiba FC but has spent time on loan at various clubs.
He is currently on his second loan spell at Girona, having returned for their 2022 season.
This season, the Brazilian has scored two goals and provided eight assists in 33 appearances across competitions and he has now been linked with a potential move to Real Madrid.
When asked about the situation, Couto told Catalunya Radio (via Fabrizio Romano): “Real Madrid want me? Well, it would be an option if they are interested. I’m not going to lie!”
He then went on to reaffirm his commitment to Manchester City, saying: “I’m a Man City player; I have a contract there and it’s my dream to play for City.”
Couto’s statement seems to indicate that he is open to any opportunities that may come his way but is happy to continue playing for Manchester City and honouring his contract with them.
