Former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has hailed Diogo Dalot over the Portuguese’s performance in the Red Devils’ FA Cup semi-final win over Coventry on Sunday.
Erik ten Hag’s side managed to beat Coventry via penalty shootout to secure their spot in the final after a 3-3 draw.
The penalty shootout ended 4-2 in favour of the Premier League giants who will now face city neighbours, Manchester City in the final.
Manchester City had earlier beaten Chelsea 1-0 to book their place in Wembley.
Dalot, who grabbed an assist on the night, also converted his spot-kick in the shootout.
And after the Red Devils’ victory, he took to Instagram and wrote while sharing pictures from the match: “We are in the Emirates FA Cup final. A hard-fought qualification. Honour to Coventry and their fans. This is what cup matches and the FA Cup are all about…”
De Gea, who played 93 matches with Dalot at Old Trafford, commented on Dalot’s post: “Beast.”
