Chelsea have reportedly been in contact with Thiago Motta as a potential replacement for Mauricio Pochettino.
Juventus has perennially been rumoured to be interested in the Bologna coach, however, it now appears that Chelsea have expressed interest as well.
With Bologna fourth in the Serie A, Motta has outperformed expectations as the team is set to qualify for the Champions League next season.
Motta, a former Barcelona midfielder, played for a roster of top-tier teams during his 17-year career, including Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan.
Though an in-depth agreement with Juventus allegedly already exists, Chelsea could pose an attractive second option for the 41-year-old coach.
According to Eleonora Trotta of Calcio Mercato, Juventus have been in contact with the Italian for months now, but Chelsea have become the latest big club to establish contact with him.
She wrote on X: “Thiago Motta to Juventus: in recent days there has been a survey, not in-depth, by Chelsea for the coach of Bologna, who has been in agreement for months with the Bianconeri regarding the new course.”
