Operatives of the Niger State Police Command have arrested one of the armed robbers who robbed students of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, of their valuables at a female hostel in Bosso.
Spokesperson of the command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, May 2, said seven phones and other items belonging to the students were recovered from the suspect.
“On 01/5/2024 at about 0300hrs, a distress call was received that suspected robbers were robbing female students in their hostel in the Bosso area of Minna,” the statement read.
“The Police patrol team attached to Bosso Div quickly rushed to the scene and arrested one Mustapha Musa 19yrs of Old Kwata area of Bosso from the ceiling at the scene.”
The following exhibits were recovered from the suspect; one sharp knife, seven phones robbed from the students, two power banks, two ear-pods and a bag.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect is a notorious robber who was identified to have perpetrated similar act at Bosso campus second gate around February this year.
“The suspect is under investigation and will soon be transferred to SCID for further investigation and prosecution accordingly.”
