The Lagos police command says its operatives have arrested a suspected traffic robber in the Ketu area of the state.

In a statement on Thursday, May 30, Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos police spokesperson, said the suspect was arrested on Wednesday, May 29, while attempting to dispossess a passerby of his mobile phone.

Hundeyin said 29-year-old Hakeem Badamosi, an ex-convict, was arrested by men of the rapid response squad (RRS).

The police spokesperson said Badamosi, who was armed with a machete and charms, tried to flee upon seeing the officers but was rounded up with the assistance of residents.

Hundeyin said the operatives also arrested two suspected vandals in the Alausa business district on May 26 for removing a road signpost.
