Former Manchester United striker, Wayne Rooney has criticised Cristiano Ronaldo after Portugal’s EURO 2024 loss to Georgia.

It was not the best of nights for Ronaldo as Portugal fell to a 2-0 loss to Georgia in their final Euro 2024 group game.

Ronaldo, who received a yellow during the game, was also subbed off and Rooney, who played alongside Ronaldo at Manchester United, criticised the Al Nassr striker for his poor performance.

Speaking on The Rest is Football podcast (via Newcastle World), the former England striker said, “It’s like the whole game he was angry. He was angry at the referee, and was angry at his teammates for not passing the ball. When he went off he kicked something in disgust.

“He must be quite tough to manage. I still watch his movement, he’s so sharp in the box. It’s not happened for him yet though, you can see the frustration.”
