Former Germany International, Mesut Ozil, has reminisced his near telepathic understanding with Portugal icon, Cristiano Ronaldo on the field while at Real Madrid.
Ronaldo and Ozil played together for three full seasons at Real Madrid before the former midfielder left for Arsenal in the summer of 2013.
They shared the pitch for 149 games with both players recording 39 goal contributions and Ronaldo scored 32 of them.
During this period, they won three titles together, including one La Liga.
In those three seasons, Ronaldo played a total of 164 games, a staggering 168 goals in 164 games across competitions, netting at least 53 times in each campaign.
Ozil has since retired from active football and now talked about his on-pitch understanding with the Portuguese football icon.
He said, according to Madrid Xtra, “Cristiano Ronaldo understood me very well on the pitch.
“I used to give him a lot of assists, and he used to score a lot of goals.”
