Edin Dzeko grabbed a hat-trick as Fenerbahce came from behind to beat Lugano 4-3 in a UEFA Champions League second qualifying round first leg.
It was Jose Mourinho’s first win in a competitive game in charge of the Turkish club.
Ayman El Wafi gave the Swiss side an early lead, but Dzeko replied with two goals either side of half-time.
Uran Bislimi levelled for the hosts, before Dzeko completed his hat-trick.
A goal from Ferdi Kadioglu made it 4-2 with 17 minutes left.
However, Lugano did not give in with Milton Valenzuela, scoring in the fourth minute of stoppage time.
Fenerbahce will now take their slender lead back to Istanbul.
