Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca has named two very important players for the club following their 2-2 preseason draw with Wrexham on Wednesday.

The manager said it was important to have Romeo Lavia and Wesley Fofana play 45 minutes of the game.

The pair, who have been out injured, made their return to the pitch during the game at the Levi’s Stadium

Lavia missed 43 games across all competitions last season due to an ankle and hamstring injury, while Fofana missed 51 games across competitions after suffering a cruciate ligament tear.

They are now back, with Lavia starting the game, and Fofana coming on as a substitute at half-time.

Maresca told a post-match press conference, according to Football London, “Both are very important. It is important for them to get minutes. I’m happy for them.

“For one year without Wesley having any minutes. 45 minutes for both is going to help them. Hopefully we can have them both fit.”
