Super Falcons forward, Asisat Oshoala was satisfied with the team’s performance in the 1-0 defeat to Spain but claimed they must work on their finishing.
Alexia Putellas’ brilliant late free kick separated both teams in a keenly contested Group C tie at the Stade de la Beaujoire, Nantes on Sunday night.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade and Chiwendu Ihezuo were guilty of missing good scoring opportunities for the Super Falcons in the game.
Randy Waldrum’s also had similar problem in their opening fixture against Brazil which they also lost 1-0.
A disappointed Oshoala said it is important for the Super Falcons to start scoring goals.
“All I can say is I am proud of our performance. I think we played good.
“We played against the world champions and we had our chances, we had opportunities to score Spain, the Bay FC striker said after the game.
“I think the same thing happened to us in the first game. We were not clinical upfront. I think if we start scoring goals we can compete with any team in the world,” he said.
