Barcelona striker, Robert Lewandowski has played down any threats posed by the arrival of Kylian Mbappe at the Spanish La Liga.
Mbappe left Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent at the end of last season to join Real Madrid.
The Frenchman has taken the no.9 shirt which is often worn by top strikers.
Mbappe is known for his versatility going forward as he could be deployed to wings or as a striker.
The 25-year-old is one of the best strikers of his generation and left PSG as their top scorer with 256 goals.
Lewandowski, who is 10 years older than Mbappe, is no slouch either, as he is regarded as one of the finest goal scorers of his era.
Lewandowski said that his playing style differs from the Frenchman’s, which is a ‘new’ motivation for him.
He said, as per Barca Universal, “I’m not sure that Mbappé is a striker like me.
“He plays in a different position and has a different style of football. For us it is a new motivation, a new season.”
