Women in Uba-Oka Akoko community, Akoko South-West Local Government Area of Ondo State have protested the k!lling of a farmer, Sunday Ayeni, by suspected herdsmen.
LIB reported that Mr. Ayeni was brutally m8rdered on Sunday, August 11, 2024, a few days after he received compensation for the destruction of his farm by cows belonging to herdsmen in the community.
The deceased’s lifeless body was found on his farm, with machete wounds and his intestines exposed.
On Monday, August 12, the angry women, who were half-n@k£d, marched to the palace of the Oka Akoko monarch, Oba Adebori Adeleye, chanting various solidarity songs.
According to Punch, the protesters alleged that suspected herdsmen had r@ped some of their women on their farmlands and vandalised their crops.

Ojo called on security agencies to be more proactive in safeguarding the lives of the farmers.
“We call on security agencies to help find lasting solutions to our problems. We are protesting to let the government know our plight.”
The spokesperson of the State Police Command, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, stated that an investigation was already ongoing.
