The Peoples Democratic Party in Ward 7, Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State on Tuesday, suspended Peter Babalola, the chairman, Governing Council of Osun State College of Education, Ila Orangun, over allegations of anti-party activities.
Babalola, an indigene of Ikire, had previously served as the Chief of Staff to ex-governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola and later served in the cabinet of ex-governor Rauf Aregbesola as the chairman, Local Government Service Commission.
The letter suspending Babalola signed by 17-member ward executives of Irewole Ward 7, dated Tuesday, August 27, was addressed to Osun State PDP chairman, Sunday Bisi.
Giving reasons for the suspension slammed against Babalola, the PDP executives said he had in the last 2 years, been engaging in acts that could put the party in dispute.
“After exhaustive deliberation on the various anti-party activities of Elder Peter Babalola in the PDP for the past two years, and his habitual engagements in various activities that can put the party into disrepute, coupled with the fact that he has not attended the PDP ward meeting or Local Government meeting in the last two years, the executive of PDP in Ward 07, Irewole Local government hereby suspend Elder Peter Adebayo Babalola from PDP ward 07, Irewole Local Government with effect today August 27, 2024.
“By this suspension, Elder Peter Adebayo Babalola seizes to be a member of PDP ward 07, Irewole Local Government,” the letter read partly.
