Former NBA star Lamar Odom is opening up about his past experiences with street drugs in the wake of Liam Payne’s toxicology report, suggesting that the substances found in the late singer’s system could have contributed to hallucinations.
In a recent encounter with reporters in Encino, California, Odom was asked if he had ever used “pink cocaine,” a dangerous mix of ketamine, methamphetamine, and ecstasy identified by police in Liam’s toxicology report. Odom, a recovering addict and founder of Odom Recovery Group, revealed that he has used every drug found in Liam’s system, including cocaine and crack, which he believes is the most dangerous.
In Odom’s view, these illicit substances could have played a significant role in Liam’s tragic death by potentially inducing hallucinations. “When I was using, I would hear voices in my head… and I think that could have happened to Liam here too,” he stated.
This perspective aligns with police theories surrounding Liam’s fatal fall from the balcony of his hotel suite at CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires. Earlier this year, Liam had been vocal about his sobriety after struggling with drug and alcohol addiction during his time with One Direction. However, authorities noted that he was actively using drugs at the time of his death, with Odom commenting that Liam was “really scoring.”
With his extensive life experiences, Odom aims to help others maintain sobriety and hopes that Liam’s death serves as a wake-up call for many, including celebrities in Hollywood.
