The case was subsequently transferred to the E Divisional Police Headquarters, Yelwa, for a detailed probe.

The Nigeria Police Force, Bauchi State Command has confirmed the arrest of four suspects linked to the tragic death of 20-year-old security guard, Polmi Dauda.

According to a statement issued on Sunday by the Spokesman of the command, CSP Mohammed Wakili, the incident was reported on March 22 by the victim’s brother, Danda Dauda, at the Bauchi Metro Area Command.

The case was subsequently transferred to the E Divisional Police Headquarters, Yelwa, for a detailed probe.

Investigations revealed that Polmi Dauda sustained severe injuries following an altercation with several individuals near Larema Hotel, where he worked as a security guard.

Despite being rushed to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

investigations by the Police revealed that the fight may have started over accusations that Polmi Dauda stole a tenant’s clothes and personal items.

The suspects in the case are Ibrahim Yahaya, a pharmacist at ATBUTH, Musa Awwal, a medical doctor at ATBUTH, Imrana Ibrahim, a local businessman and Zakariya’u Isah, a fellow security guard.

Wakili further disclosed that the four suspects have been taken into custody and are cooperating with the police, adding that the case is being investigated as a possible homicide.

Meanwhile, the deceased’s body has been deposited at the ATBUTH mortuary for a postmortem examination.

The police urged the public to remain calm while assuring that justice will be served.
