Two sisters, Nokwanda Klaas, 27, and Ayanda Klaas, 24, were killed on March 9, 2025, in Umbilo, Durban, South Africa.

A peaceful demonstration will be held on April 11, 2025 over the m8rder of the sisters and other victims of domestic violence in the country.

Advocacy group, Women for Change in a statement on Sunday, March 30, said that the two sisters were on their way home from work when they were robbed and thrown out of a moving taxi.

They were rushed to the hospital, but Nokwanda passed away on the same day, and Ayanda the following day due to severe head injuries.

No one has been arrested.

“We are heartbroken over the loss of such beautiful souls. Two more sisters murdered. How many more until we declare GBV and femicide a National Disaster? Sign our petition and stand with us in a peaceful demonstration at the Union Buildings on 11 April 2025. Together, we demand the change our country so desperately needs,” the group stated.
