Liverpool fans have found a new hero after a brutal moment during their emphatic 5-1 demolition of Tottenham Hotspur. As celebrations erupted over winning their 20th league title, it wasn’t just the goals or the trophy lift that grabbed the headlines. A ruthless gesture from Harvey Elliott directed at Richarlison became an unexpected highlight for supporters.

The Reds dominated Tottenham from start to finish, with goals raining down at Anfield to cap off a historic Premier League season. Under new manager Arne Slot, Liverpool clinched their second Premier League title and restored their position at the summit of English football.

As Liverpool basked in glory, emotions ran high. Among the more heated moments of the game, a clash between Harvey Elliott and former Everton forward Richarlison captured the hearts of fans everywhere.

Elliott, who came on as a second-half substitute, wasted no time making his presence felt. In stoppage time, tensions boiled over between the 21-year-old Liverpool star and Tottenham’s Richarlison, who was roundly booed by the home crowd due to his past ties with Everton.

After an exchange of shoves, Elliott made a cheeky and cutting gesture — raising his hands to form the number ’30,’ a savage reference to Everton’s 30-year wait for a major trophy. The subtle yet stinging taunt was instantly picked up by eagle-eyed fans and quickly went viral.

Social media erupted as Liverpool fans hailed Elliott’s gesture as the “best moment of the match,” even amid a five-star performance from the team. One user wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Harvey Elliott giving Richarlison the ’30 years’ might actually be the best moment of that whole match.”

Another fan chimed in: “Best part of today was Harvey Elliott taking the p*ss out of Richarlison. Absolute limbs!” The outpouring of admiration showed just how much the rivalry between Liverpool and Everton still burns fiercely.

More fans flooded social media with praise, with one supporter claiming: “Harvey Elliott achieving hero status for giving Richarlison a 30 years gesture. Immense scenes!” Others humorously suggested Elliott had done the “Lord’s work” by mocking Everton’s long-standing drought.

For Elliott, the moment carried personal significance as well. Despite being part of the squad during Liverpool’s 2020 Premier League-winning campaign, he didn’t make enough appearances to qualify for a medal. This year, however, he’s firmly etched his name into club folklore, both for his performances and his swagger.

The triumph marks a monumental beginning for Arne Slot’s tenure. Appointed last summer to succeed the legendary Jürgen Klopp, Slot has delivered silverware in stunning fashion. Speaking after the match, the Dutchman said, “It’s difficult to put into words. You can feel how important it was for the fans to be here.”

Slot continued, “We always come back, we always find a way to win. I don’t think we could have lost today. Our main focus was to win this game, and even though we were ahead, you could feel the pressure.”

The Liverpool boss paid tribute to the team’s resilience, noting the incredible consistency required to stay at the top in the world’s most competitive league. “For the whole season, we were on top of the league, but you also know how hard the Premier League is. The belief for us to win it was here throughout the season,” he added.

Meanwhile, the city of Liverpool will be painted red for days to come. Plans are underway for a massive parade to celebrate the club’s latest historic achievement. The victory further cements Liverpool’s status as one of English football’s true giants.

Across the city, the contrast couldn’t be starker. Everton’s 30-year wait for silverware continues to cast a shadow over the blue half of Merseyside, and gestures like Elliott’s are a constant reminder of the painful reality their rivals face.

Liverpool’s next match will see them honored with a guard of honour by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge next Sunday. It’s a tradition reserved for champions, and one that Liverpool fans will relish.

As Liverpool fans continue to sing and celebrate, Harvey Elliott’s audacious dig at Richarlison has added yet another reason to smile. In a match full of unforgettable moments, it was a simple hand gesture that captured the essence of rivalry, pride, and passion.

It may not have been a goal or an assist, but for Liverpool supporters, it was pure gold.
