Former England defender, Jamie Carragher has suggested that striker Matheus Cunha’s possible arrival at Manchester United could force Alejandro Garnacho to leave Old Trafford this summer.

It was reported on Monday that Cunha has agreed to join Man United this summer from Wolves.

Man United are keen to trigger Cunha’s £62.5 million release clause.

When asked how the Brazilian’s transfer might affect Garnacho’s future at United, Carragher told Sky Sports: “It is certainly not good news because I think Amad Diallo might play one of those other positions [in the attack] alongside Cunha and maybe Bruno Fernandes at different times.

“I think if a decent offer comes in for Garnacho, Manchester United will probably take it.”

Man United are keen to improve Ruben Amorim’s squad this summer after a poor Premier League debut campaign.

The Premier League club have been linked with several top players, including Cuhna.
