Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Eric Chelle, has picked his choice of best striker in the world at the moment.
According to the Malian, Super Eagles No.9, Victor Osimhen is currently the best globally.
Chelle is delighted over the return of the Galatasaray striker from the injury he sustained while playing for his country in the last FIFA International window.
Osimhen is available for his part in the crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin.
He was injured during Nigeria’s 1-0 victory over Rwanda in Uyo in September.
Chelle, who addressed sports journalists ahead of the game against Lesotho on Friday, described Osimhen as the best in the world.
“For us, Victor is the best striker in the world. But we have lots of strikers in these team we have lots of players who can make the difference at any moment,” he said
“Sometimes you have some players, sometimes you don’t have some players, but you need to stay focused on the players who are ready now.”
Nigeria’s chances of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup in North America is very slim. The Super Eagles must win their remaining two matches to stand any chance.
