An alcohol fueled domestic dispute has left a 51-year-old man seriously injured in South Africa.

The victim was allegedly struck with a glass bottle by his girlfriend who was under the influence of alcohol.

The incident happened at Mtiyedwa Sithole Road in Phase 5, Waterloo – KZN at approximately 11:45 on Sunday, February 1, 2026.

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived on scene and found the man with a head injury.

According to the man, the altercation began after the female requested additional finance to purchase more alcohol.

The man allegedly refused, stating that the available funds had already been spent.

The argument escalated, resulting in the assault.

The injured man was transported privately to hospital for medical treatment.
