Man rescued after attempted suicide in Ogun River (photos)

A 36-year-old man, Fatai Oyedele, was rescued after he attempted suicide on the popular Ogun River in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, on June 24th today.

According to eyewitness reports, the man arrived at the river at around 1 p.m. today and tried to jump into the river. He was rescued by men from the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement (TRACE) Corps.

Ogun TRACE Corps spokeswoman Babatunde Akinbiyi confirmed the incident and said the married man with five children was frustrated with his life.

He was later taken to the police station in Adigbe.
