Former France forward, Jerome Rothen has questioned the form of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe in the Paris Saint-Germain attack.
The PSG’s frontmen are currently struggling to hit the ground running following the World Cup break.
They have suffered two defeats since the restart of the Ligue1.
The Ligue1 champions were defeated by second-placed Lens in a crucial Ligue 1 encounter on January 2 and followed that up with another defeat to Rennes in their most recent league matchup.
While Messi and Neymar did not play the game against Lens but started against Rennes while Mbappe came on in the second half.
Rothen said on RMC Sport: “This efficiency is less because offensively the players are not in their best shape.
“The level of Messi and Neymar in the game of Rennes … It will not necessarily be the same…”
Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe clashed against each other in the final of the 2022 World Cup with the Argentina superstar coming out victorious.
Argentina beat France 4-2 in a penalty shootout after the game ended 3-3 on full-time and extra time.
