Arsenal have made a world-record transfer bid for Manchester United striker, Alessia Russo
The 33-year-old Russo has scored 19 goals in 44 games for the Red Devils since joining from Brighton in the summer of 2020.
She is also one of England’s dependable attackers, scoring 10 goals in 17 appearances for the senior women’s national team.
She helped the Lionesses become European champions last summer.
Russo’s contract will expire in the summer of 2023, and while the Red Devils want the player to remain at the club, talks over a new deal have not yet resulted in an extension.
The Athletic reports that Arsenal are determined to sign from United and have submitted a world-record offer for the England international.
The world-record signing in women’s football is currently Keira Walsh’s £400,000 move from Manchester City to Barcelona last summer.
Manchester United are yet to respond to Arsenal’s offer.
