NPFL Recap: Bendel Insurance surrender hundred percent record, Rivers United beaten at last

Group A leaders, Bendel Insurance hundred percent record in the Nigeria Premier Football League was halted by Gombe United at the weekend.

Gombe United, who have struggled to make impact in the NPFL this season, produced a strong defensive performance in the game.

The Savannah Scorpions only recorded their first win of the season against Shooting Stars last week and exhibited a confident display against their hosts.

Insurance remain four points ahead of second-placed Remo Stars at the top of the log.

Holders Rivers United suffered their first defeat of the season going down 2-1 against Doma United at the Pantami Stadium.

The Pride of Rivers took the lead in the game but the host team rallied back to win the game.
