Flying Eagles head coach, Ladan Bosso says the team is now firmly focused on winning a record extending eighth title at the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.

The West Africans zoomed into the semi-final after defeating the Hippos of Uganda 1-0 at the Suez Canal Stadium, Ismailia on Thursday.

The victory also ensured the Flying Eagles’ qualification to the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup to be hosted by Indonesia in June.

With the World Cup ticket already secured, Bosso declared that his team’s next target is to leave Egypt with the trophy.

“The boys have maintained that they are out for business, now that we have picked the World Cup ticket, the next thing is to ensure that we qualify for the final and hopefully we can go back home to Nigeria with the trophy,” Bosso said after the game.

The Flying Eagles will meet the winner of the quarter-final tie between Gambia and South Sudan in the last four.
