Ten members of a family who died in a car accident along the Kaduna-Kachia highway while returning from a wedding in Kano State, have been laid to rest.
The victims were buried on Monday, March 6, in Kachia, Kaduna, according to Islamic rites.
The tragic accident happened near a village called Makyelli near Idon on their way to Kachia town around 5 pm on Sunday, March 5.
It was gathered that the vehicle had a head-on collision with a lorry conveying firewood.
The victims, all male, were family members.
A resident of Kachia town who knows some of the victims, Isiyaku Musa Kachia told Daily Trust that they were all from Kano but resided in Kachia town of Kaduna State.
“I know most of them. They went to their home town in Kano for a wedding but on their way back to Kachia town the Golf car they were travelling in collided with a lorry conveying firewood, and all of them in the car died on the spot,” he said.
