Chelsea manager, Graham Potter, has confirmed that Kai Havertz is the team’s new penalty taker after Jorginho left for Arsenal in January.
During his time at Stamford Bridge, Jorginho converted 27 of the 31 spot-kicks he took.
Ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund, Potter has revealed that Havertz is the preferred choice for penalties.
“The players are always practising penalties. We are prepared for the eventuality and possibility [of a penalty shootout].
“We want to win it before that but if not then we will be prepared to go through in that way. Kai is our penalty taker in the absence of Jorginho,” Potter said.
Havertz has scored only six goals in 32 appearances for Chelsea this season.
