Former Chelsea midfielder, Karen Carney has hailed N’Golo Kante after their stalemate with Liverpool, describing the France international’s performance as ‘brilliant’.
Chelsea were held to a 0-0 draw by Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, 48 hours after the sack of Graham Potter.
Kante was named in the starting XI for the first time since August 2022 as he has been on the sideline due to injury.
After watching his outstanding performance on Tuesday, Camey believes the Frenchman returned at the right time as he would help the Blues in their Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid.
“I thought he was brilliant,” he said on Sky Sports.
“He just offers that stability in midfield and a bit more confidence.
“I thought Enzo [Fernandez] played well with him, that was quite a nice dynamic. It’s timely for Chelsea because they will need him against Real Madrid. It was a really, really positive return,” he added.
