Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti hinted that he might feature the same first eleven that defeated Barcelona 4-0 in the Copa del Rey semi-final against Chelsea in the Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday.

Chelsea travels to the Spanish capital on Wednesday to tackle the La Liga Champions inside the Santiago Bernabeu.

Going into the game, both sides suffered defeats in their domestic leagues over the weekend. While Real Madrid were beaten 3-2 by Villarreal, Chelsea were defeated by relegation-battling Wolves.

The team Ancelotti is hoping to unleash on Chelsea is the same starting XI that thrashed Barcelona 4-0 in the second leg of the Copa del Rey semi-finals.

The Italian manager told the media after the match against Villarreal at the weekend: “I may repeat the same 11 from the Camp Nou.

“I made a lot of rotations today because the game against Barcelona demanded a lot from us physically and mentally.”
