The Arewa Youth Conference for Sustainable Future of Nigeria, a youth-led organization has endorsed Senator Godswill Akpabio to emerge as the 10th Senate president of Nigeria.
This was contained in a statement by its President, Dr Muttaka Ahmed Ibrahim. In the statement, Dr Ibrahim said,
“We believe that Senator Akpabio’s remarkable achievements in his political career make him a worthy candidate for this esteemed position.
“As a former Governor of Akwa Ibom State and a current senator representing Akwa Ibom Northwest Senatorial District (sic), he has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to improving the lives of the Nigerian people through his various achievements in infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and youth empowerment.”
Ibrahim said Akpabio’s emergence as Senate president will help to promote unity, religious balancing after the Muslim-Muslim ticket and cohesion within the party, as it will demonstrate the party’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding hard work and excellence.
He added,
“In his capacity as the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Akpabio has played a pivotal role in advocating for the interests of the Nigerian people, especially those in the northern region. He has worked tirelessly to promote peace, security, and unity among Nigerians, which aligns perfectly with our organization’s mission and vision.
“Furthermore, we believe that Senator Akpabio possesses the necessary leadership qualities to steer the Nigerian Senate in the right direction. His experience, expertise, and track record of success makes him the ideal candidate for this crucial role.”
He called the general public to disregard any news indicating that Senator Akpabio has dropped out of the 10th Assembly Senate presidency race as he is the only and sole competent for the Job.
“As an organization committed to the sustainable development of Nigeria, we are confident that endorsing Sen. Akpabio as the 10th Senate president will promote the interests of the Nigerian people and advance our collective goals. We urge all APC Senators-elect, party stakeholders, and President-elect Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu to join us in endorsing Sen. Dr Godswill O. Akpabio as the 10th Senate president of Nigeria,” Ibrahim said.
