Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has identified the midfielder to easily replace Granit Xhaka in Arsenal’s midfield.

According to the former Manchester United defender, Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze could take over Xhaka’s role at the Emirates.

The 24-year-old Eze has been brilliant for Crystal Palace in their last couple of games as they comfortably defeated the likes of Leeds United and Southampton.

He has scored three of the Eagles’ seven goals in the last two games.

Eze is thriving in the central midfield position, from where he has scored five goals in nine appearances.

“Smooth. If you’re talking about one of the smoothest ballers in the game, in the Premier League right now, Eze’s up there. Mad player. He’s playing like he’s in the cage,” Ferdinand told Vibe with Five.

“Just smooth, man. He doesn’t seem fazed either. He can go past people, slip people in and finish. He’d be good at Arsenal, you know. In the [Granit] Xhaka position. Another year.”
