Bayern Munich boss, Thomas Tuchel has named Manchester City as the best team in Europe at the moment.

Tuchel said this at his post-match press conference after Manchester City eliminated Bayern Munich from the Champions League on Wednesday night in Germany.

The former Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain coach watched as Bayer drew 1-1 with Man City in the Champions League quarter-final second-leg tie. Pep Guardiola’s side qualified for the semi-final stage on a 4-1 aggregate win, having won the first leg 3-0.

However, Tuchel believes Bayern Munich had no luck against the best team Man City over the two legs.

Tuchel said: “We had them on the ropes twice, tonight more so than in Manchester. We had no luck over the 180 minutes, though.

“I am very pleased with both performances against Manchester City and the manner in which we played today. We went toe to toe with the best team in Europe at the moment.”
