Actor Junior Pope Odonwodo aka Jnr Pope has sworn to go mad any day he attempts to beat his wife, Jennifer Awele.
He explained he would rather walk away than lay hands on her no matter the provocation because she’s been such a patient wife.
He recounted mortgaging her jewelleries with ‘aboki’s’ for money so that they could get by at the point when life was hard during an interview with the Punch
Speaking in an interview, Jnr Pope revealed he promised God and himself to lose his sanity any day he dares to raise hands on his wife.
He said,
“Back then it seemed like it wasn’t working, it was not easy at all. I have not mentioned it before but to the glory of God, today let me share this.
“After I got married, the first year was not rosy; I collected my wife’s gold jewellery and used it to borrow money from ‘aboki’ (Hausa men who trade in gold and currency exchange).
“So, I give Him the glory for giving me a patient wife. Why would I want to touch a woman like this? God forbid.
“One thing I told myself and God is that, the day I lay my hands on my wife, let me run mad. Instead, I walk away.”
